New news. The foreclosure rate in Michigan has appeared to decline. In a Detroit News article published 02/27/2008, properties entering into foreclosure in Michigan are declining. Now is the time to buy before the market prices increases. I believe that many buyers now the fence and choose not to buy now, will be kicking themselves for not jumping and and buying in March of 2008. The worst could be over.

Is it just me, or is feedback gone the way of the Edsel? Seems today's REALTORS® are too busy showing the vast active inventory available to return feedback. Many times sellers have asked me, "So what did the buyer think"?

I nicely say that I have emailed to agent, faxed a form to the agent requesting feedback and even done something difficult and tried to reach the agent by old fashion telephone. You see, many agents say they are available, but in truth they have voice mail boxes that are full or unchecked. Often the email address we have for the agent is incorrect because they haven't updated their email in the local MLS system. If I can't reach them how many potential buyers/sellers are unable to reach them?

True, times are different than the "good old days", but common courtesy is just that, common courtesy. The sellers were nice enough to accommodate a quick last minute showing, the least today's agent can do is return a message to the listing agent who is requesting feedback.

Shelby Township, Mich., February 4, 2008-Broker/Co-Owner Dave Elya and Co-Owner/Sales Manager Hank Mendez of recently franchised WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Excel have completed the Weichert® Management Academy, four days of educational sessions covering all aspects of the Weichert way of doing business.  Held at corporate headquarters in Morris Plains, New Jersey, the Academy program is a requisite training course for new members of the Weichert Real Estate Affiliates network. New and changing management staff members from the system's existing franchises are also encouraged to attend.

The sessions are directed by Vice President of Business Development Kirk Miller, assisted by the all-Realtor management team from Weichert headquarters in New Jersey. "The Academy provides the tools to give new Weichert® franchisees a solid foundation and the confidence to manage their businesses as never before," Miller said. "Some of what we cover is not new to established brokers and managers, but most of it is quite an eye-opener."

Elya and Mendez participated in a concentrated, accelerated program emphasizing recruiting, training and career development, systems installation and business planning, while further defining the support systems and tools that are unique to the organization.

Shelby Township, Mich., January 14, 2008-Dave Elya and Hank Mendez have announced that their Shelby Township agency is now an independently owned and operated franchise with Weichert Real Estate Affiliates.  Newly named WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Excel, the office located at 47699 Van Dyke Avenue is home to 28 agents.
